Read All About It - Recent Exciting Book Deals!

As most of you already know by now, I love book covers. I hear about a book deal, I seek out the author all around the internet and I stalk their blog until that book cover is released. Then I bring it to you in a Cover Candy post, and we all swoon! What you might not know though, is that I'm also pretty interested in the book deals themselves, and so I thought, why not bring you the most exciting book deals, so you can stalk these soon to be authors just like I do.

Sounds fun?

The follow is a list of some recent exciting book deals I've come across on my travels. I've also included links to the authors blogs or twitter where available so you can stalk to your hearts content! ;)

Black Heart Blue by Louisa Reid

Billed as a tragic story of twin sisters, Black Heart Blue is said to have major crossover appeal, and is set to be an exciting debut for UK author for Louisa Reid when it releases  in May 2012 in two separate editions from Razorbill & Michael Joseph.

More about the Book:

A chilling teen debut, Black Heart Blue is the tragic story of twin sisters - one beautiful, one heartbreakingly disfigured - and their terrifying struggle to escape their abusive parents. Poignant, memorable and unbelievably gripping, Black Heart Blue marks the arrival of an extraordinary new voice in YA and crossover fiction.

What the Publishers are Saying:

'We have been looking for UK talent to join the Razorbill list and in Louisa we have most definitely found it. This is the most haunting and powerful novel I have read in a long time and the fact that it's a debut makes it all the more exciting.'  - Amanda Punter, Publisher, Razorbill.

'Black Heart Blue is one of those rare novels that comes to inhabit your soul.'  - Mari Evans, Fiction Publisher, Michael Joseph.

Level Two by Lenore Appelhans

Level Two by prolific YA blogger Lenore Appelhans has been causing quite a buzz in my Goodreads feed ever since the US rights were acquired by Simon & Schuster a while back, and so I was really excited to learn that Usborne have bought the novel and it's coming our way too! Lenore's blog was one of the first YA book blogs I discovered when I started blogging, and  I reckon that makes this deal doubly exciting.  Level Two will be publishing simultaneously in the US and UK with the release date provisionally set for Autumn 2012.  Oh, did I mention that the movie rights have been sold too? Exciting times indeed!

More about the Book:

Level Two is a young adult novel about a limbo-like place that exists between our world, known as Level 1, and the afterlife, dubbed Level 2, where the dead spend their time downloading and viewing their favourite memories. Felicia Ward, a 17-year-old, is in Level 2 but is then caught up in an uprising.

EDEN by Helen Douglas

A love story/thriller that spans the universe - sign me up for that! EDEN by Helen Douglas has been acquired by Bloomsbury and will publish simultaneously in the US & UK in early 2013. Keep an eye out for this one!

More about the Book:

EDEN is a teen love story that spans the universe. When a plan to save the human race brings visitors from the future a young girl called Eden becomes the key to their success. With one action she can save the human race but along the way Eden will have to ask herself whether love and friendship is more important than saving the world.

What the Publishers are Saying:

' EDEN combines a pitch-perfect voice and vivid characters for some sublime romantic angst, as girl meets boy in a starry twist of fate. Love triangles, suspense and stargazing unite for a heart-stopping twist.' - Ele Fountain, Senior Commissioning Editor, Bloomsbury.

The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd:

Murder, madness and a love triangle, eh!  I couldn't be more excited to read this one! The Madman's Daughter is the first in a gothic thriller trilogy to be published by Balzer & Bray in Winter 2013.  No deets on a UK deal yet, but I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for info!

More about the Book:

A gothic thriller trilogy pitched as loosely inspired by H.G. Wells' classic The Island of Dr. Moreau, in which Dr. Moreau's 16-year-old daughter travels to her estranged father's island and finds murder, madness, and a love triangle with an enigmatic castaway and her father's handsome young assistant.
