Cover Candy #11 - Recent Swoonworthy Cover Reveals!

It's been a while since I've done a Cover Candy post, so think of this as a Cover Candy catch-up edition with some of my absolute favourite covers from the last while!

Let me know what you think of the featured covers in comments. Will you be adding any of these to your wishlist?

********************
First up is the UK cover for Between by Jessica Warman. The setting for this book is a small coastal town with a lot of secrets - I read that description and instantly added this to my wish list. Doesn't it sound good?  This one is released in the UK in October, but you guys in the US will have it in late August.  The US cover is  different to the UK cover, and while I like them both, I prefer the UK cover just a little more!

Between by Jessica Warman
Publisher: Egmont
Release date: October 2011
Ages: YA

Only the good die young. Right? Elizabeth Valchar has it all: friends, money, beauty, a cute boyfriend and assured popularity. But Liz is still here after death, and she doesn't know why. There are gaps in her memory. Her only company Alex, a boy killed by a car a year earlier, Liz sets out to piece together her life. But their small coastal town is hiding many secrets - about families, boyfriends and friendship. Plus, Alex hates Liz for being mean when they were alive. Was she as squeaky clean as she thinks she was? Could it be that she herself is hiding the biggest secret of all? Can Liz discover the truth? And if she does, who can she tell? An engrossing, compelling thriller that peels back the layers of small-town life to expose true, ugly, cruel human nature

Fury is the first book in a new trilogy by Elizabeth Miles, and it's one I've been excited about for a while now. The US cover of this one is my favourite in the cover comparison stakes.Well, at least I think so. At first I didn't much like the UK cover, but now it's growing on me!

Fury by Elizabeth Miles
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Release date: August 2011
Ages: 14+

The first book in a paranormal teen trilogy featuring three beautiful, mysterious girls wreaking havoc on a small New England town.

Sometimes sorry isn't enough....

It’s winter break in Ascension, Maine. The snow is falling and everything looks pristine and peaceful. But not all is as it seems...

Between cozy traditions and parties with her friends, Emily loves the holidays. And this year’s even better--the guy she’s been into for months is finally noticing her. But Em knows if she starts things with him, there’s no turning back. Because his girlfriend is Em’s best friend.

On the other side of town, Chase is having problems of his own. The stress of his home life is starting to take its toll, and his social life is unraveling. But that’s nothing compared to what’s really haunting him. Chase has done something cruel...something the perfect guy he pretends to be would never do. And it’s only a matter of time before he’s exposed.

In Ascension, mistakes can be deadly. And three girls—three beautiful, mysterious girls—are here to choose who will pay.

Em and Chase have been chosen.

I love this cover for Illuminated by Erica Orloff. It's pure romance, and the story sounds pretty romantic too. Can't wait to read this one!

Illuminated by Erica Orloff

Ages: YA

An epic romance full of mysteries that transcend time—fans of Romeo and Juliet and The Time Traveler’s Wife will rejoice!

Some loves are not made to last . . . Like Romeo and Juliet, Heloise and Abelard were doomed from the start, and their romance was destined to pass into history. Yet when sixteen-year-old Callie Martin discovers a diary hidden within an antique book, their story—and hers—takes on another life. For the diary leads Callie to the brilliant and handsome August, who is just as mysterious as the secret the diary hides. Their attraction is undeniable. As the two hunt down the truth behind the diary—and that of Heloise and Abelard’s ancient romance—their romance becomes all-consuming. But Callie knows it can’t last . . . love never does. Will their love that burns as bright as a shooting star flame out, or will these star-crossed lovers be able to defy history?

Just like everybody else, I was pretty skeptical when I heard Hilary Duff was writing a novel, but I've actually heard some pretty good things about Elixir! I got a review copy of this one last week, so will be reading it soon. I love the new paperback cover. So pretty!

  3. I love all these covers especially Illuminated, its just so stunning! I have to say that I prefer the US cover for Between because its more unsettling which seems to fit with the tone of the book. Plus its green and you just don't see that many cool green covers!

  6. @Misha - I agree. I love those two cover!

@Rachel - Thanks for letting me know. I can see all the covers, so I'm just going to blame this on blogger messing up again!

By the way - I meant to mention that this is a repost, so if some of you think I'm going insane, don't fret! This post got gobbbled up by blogger earlier in the week, but I thought the covers were too pretty to let them go to waste!

  14. Oh, I love the covers of Illuminated the Elixir! Is this the UK or US paperback?

  15. Illuminated is totally pretty, and very romantic. It's too bad it's a December 2011 release. I love red covers, so the Fury is awesome, too. As for the first one--it reminds me a bit too much of A Beautiful Dark.

  16. @Miss Page-Turner - The Elixir cover is for the UK paperback.
