Yup, it's that time of year again guys! NaNoWriMo time!
This is my third year taking part in NaNoWriMo. The first year went well, or so I thought, until I read back over what I'd written. Ha! What a total mess - but I was a 'winner', so YAY! Last year was kind of a mess as I decided to keep blogging as well as participating in NaNoWriMo - so that didn't go so well! (I also decided to do some editing as I wrote, which I know is forbidden, so I will try not to do that again!)
This year, I'm more organised, at least blogging-wise. It'll probably be a little quieter around here during the month of November, and reviews may go on the backburner. I have some pretty great guest posts lined up, though, so keep an eye out for those!
Okay, so since I'm SO organised this year, I'm actually writing this post like a week in advance of NaNoWrimo kicking off, and as such, I haven't really given much thought to what my novel will be all about. Usually I write contemp with a paranormal twist and lots and lots of romance, so this year I'll probably do something similar. I'm thinking witches this year. I've always wanted to write something witchy! I was actually going to write a 'New Adult' novel this time round, but I've kind of gone off the idea now. However, it may still happen at some point!
To keep up with my progress, add me as a friend and we can be writing buddies! :) I'm shutterbug_99 over there.
If you're taking part in NaNoWriMo, let me know. I'd love to hear all about your novel and if you have any top tips, feel free to share!
P.S: If you'd like to take part in NaNoWriMo but don't quite feel like writing a great, big 50k words, why not check out this collaborative novel idea from Grammerly called GrammoWriMo - it sounds pretty cool! First and last lines of the collaborative novel will be provided by published NaNoWriMo author Gayle Brandeis. Follow grammowrimo on Twitter to find out more!
Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteGood Luck on your Nanowrimo this year, Leanna! I'm not participating, but I wish you so much fun with your new project!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing NaNoWriMo this year - it's my first year, and I hope I manage the full 50,000 words, but we'll see how it goes!
ReplyDeleteOk, so I am trying it again this year as well. I am sure I won't reach the goal, but I figure that I should at least try it out and get back into the habit of writing more. I'm Chris327 on there!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really need to get writing! Yesterday didn't really work out - I'm off to a slow start!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your first NaNo! What's your user name on there? I'll add you as a writing buddy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you signed up again, Christina! I'm not quite sure how I got to 50k that first year. Yesterday I managed a big, whopping 500 words! ha!
ReplyDeleteHave fun and I can't wait to hear how your story turns out!
ReplyDeleteThanks, DJ! I'm currently on 500 words. I have a way to go!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'm thus far so far away from 50,000 words it's scary. Fiction writing does not come easy to me it seems.
ReplyDeletei'm taking part again. Already have you as a writing buddy. :D
ReplyDeletegood luck with it.
Good luck :)
ReplyDeleteI seriously have no time for it this year, but good luck to you Leanna!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same! I'm so slow! Lagging very far behind already! Add me as a writing buddy? http://nanowrimo.org/participants/shutterbug_99
ReplyDeleteYou too! You are doing great word-count-wise. I am not! Need to catch up! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jesse! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, doll! My word count is currently much, much lower than it should be. Eeek!
ReplyDeleteIt's all good; there's still time! And it gets you writing, which is the best part :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am pulling ahead a bit, feeling motivated. But also won't be able to write this weekend so trying to get ahead enough so it won't affect me.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry too much, any amount of words down is better than before. You can do it!
