I get out less, unless I’m travelling for an event. I’ve been chained to my computer for the past
few years finishing the trilogy, and I LOVE it.
I finally get to write all day, every day, and I couldn’t be happier
about that.
What has been your best author experience to date?
I actually just got a bit of fan mail from the UK that had a
huge effect on me. The reader told me
that she had been going through a lot of family problems for the past few years
and that she had become guarded and closed off.
Then she told me that my books had inspired her to open up and try to
love again. It was really moving for me
to know that I had helped her when she was going through so much, even if it
was just a bit. That’s probably my best
experience to date.
The Starcrossed trilogy comes to its conclusion with Goddess. How does it feel to say goodbye
to Helen, Lucas and all those other characters who have lived in your head for
so long?
I’m sure I’ll go into withdrawals shortly, but for now I’m
just still so happy to know that I finished that I can’t be anything but
relieved.
Can you recommend another YA series to anyone who loved the Starcrossed
trilogy and is looking for another great set of books to read?
I loved Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone. Graceling by Kristin Cashore was
amazing. The Die for Me series by Amy
Plum is one of my favorites. If you like
dystopian books try Eve by Anna Carey. Daughter
of Smoke and Bone was so cool, too. (I
could keep going, but I’ll stop there!)
What books are top of your 2013 wish list?
Leigh Bardugo’s next book in her Grisha trilogy. Natalie Parker’s first book is supposed to
come out this year (I think) and I’m dying to read it. I know I’m leaving out about a thousand
books, but the list really is too long and it depresses me to think about it. There are so many books I want to read, but
unfortunately, in order for me to write I won’t be able to get to all of
them. *sigh*
Finally, what are you working on next? Any upcoming projects
you can let me know about?
There is something I’ve been working on that is nearly ready
to go out. It’s a new trilogy. I can’t really talk about it yet, but I will
soon. ;)
-----Psssst! I hear the first book in Josie's new series is titled CRUCIBLE and that there may be Starcrossed movie news coming soon! How exciting is that! I also hear whisperings that Josie is thinking of continuing the Starcrossed series! (Yes, okay, I've totally been stalking Josie on Twitter!)

Awesome interview. I love how you catch up with the authors and share all the info with us. I haven't read Goddess yet, but I want to. I can't wait to see how it all ends and I am excited to hear that there may be movie news. I'll keep my eyes out for her new trilogy too.
ReplyDeleteAh I love Josie and her series was just amazing!!! And it was great to see how her life changed in those past three years!
ReplyDeleteOh and I LOVE the rumors... they sounds great!
I love seeing how the authors are getting on now that their books are out in the world. I first interviewed Josie just after Starcrossed had been released so it's nice to catch up! :)
ReplyDeleteI know! It looks like a movie deal might happen! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Leanna!
ReplyDeleteOHHHH more Helen & Lucas *swoon*
