Unlucky in love Jo is dragged along to see a clairvoyant by her two coupled-up best friends, and is told that there's only one boy for her. The trouble is, the last time she saw him was in a past life, when she worked as a governess to his younger brother. The clairvoyant tells her that as she is back in this life, so is he, and she must find him if she is ever to know true happiness and love.
Jo doesn't believe a word of it - but then a series of events begin to change her mind. Could her one true love really be out there? In her quest to find the One, she visits psychics and cemeteries - but will she even be able to recognize her soul-mate when she finds him? Or is she destined to continue looking for love for all of time?
Unlucky in love Jo swears she’s happy being a singleton, but her coupled up friends Effy and Tash are not so convinced. They’re pretty sure that besides being too picky for her own good, Jo just hasn’t met the right guy yet. Jo, on the other hand, knows that she’s met the right guy. The only problem is that Finn O’ Brady, lead singer in the local band Minted, and the Harry-Styles-alike boy of her dreams, is adored by females far and wide, and unfortunately for Jo, she doesn’t get a look in.
However, when one day her friends take her along to a clairvoyant to have her fortune told, Jo finds out exactly why her love life is a non-event. It’s true that she hasn’t met the right guy yet, but as the clairvoyant tells her, it’s also true that not just any guy will do for Jo. She has to find the one, the soulmate she loved and lost in a past life, who has now followed her to this life. Insightful and all as this clairvoyant is, she can’t tell Jo who the guy is. Jo must find that out for herself. But before she gets started on her task, she has to go check out Finn at a Minted gig.
The way Jo sees it, her soulmate could be anyone, and she could spend forever and a day looking for him and never find him. But she knows exactly where Finn is, so it makes more sense to concentrate on him, even if she can barely see him through throng of female fans that always surround him. But Finn’s not the only contender for the role of the love of Jo’s life. There’s also Owen, Jo’s nice guy ex who want to be more than just good friends, and Ben, Finn’s moody but hot bandmate, a mysterious guy who Jo just can’t figure out at all.
Jo’s search for her soulmate leads her to psychics, cemeteries, kisses, confusion and past-live regressions in this witty and fast paced read that will appeal to younger teens. Love at Second Sight by Cathy Hopkins is a cute bundle of fun from a great storyteller!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds just like my kind of book! :D But I'm confused, is this contemporary or paranormal? I mean, past live?
