Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted at Breaking the Spine that spotlights eagerly awaited upcoming releases.
Angel Fire by L.A. WeatherlyPublisher: Usborne PublishingRelease date: October 1st 2011
This is the thrilling second chapter in the electrifying "Angel Trilogy". Angels will never be seen in the same way again. Gorgeous, charismatic Alex has the courage and skill of a trained Angel Killer. Unique, dazzling Willow has the beauty and power that comes with being half-angel. As the power of the malevolent Church of Angels grows, now it's up to Alex and Willow to train a new team of Angel Killers. Willow soon finds her half-angel identity met with hostility by some of the other AKs, while privately, she must wrestle with the knowledge that her father, Raziel, is a depraved, evil angel. However, while life in the AK training camp is tough, at least Alex and Willow are together. But when Alex discovers that the death of his brother and fellow Angel-Killer, Jake, was linked to a secret CIA mission to defeat the angels, he is forced to leave the camp to complete his brother's work... without Willow. Alex promised Willow he would never leave her, but with the fate of the human race at stake, destiny has ruled that Alex and Willow must be parted once more..
Cannot wait for this book! L.A. Weatherly's Angel was one of my favourite books of 2010 and I'm really excited to find out what happens next. I'm sensing trouble here for Alex and Willow. Nooo!!!
As always let me know what you think, and leave your WoW links in comments. If you have a favourite cover here, let me know your choice! :)
That looks like an awesome series. I think I like the UK cover more. Hard pick!

Ooh, I'm waiting for this too - I LOVED the first book, so this one should be just as awesome :D I've never seen the US cover for this before, and sure, it's pretty, but the UK one is so much nicer, IMO :D Great WoW pick! :D
ReplyDeleteI have not read the first book which in the US is called Angel Burn, but I have been wanting to read it. The UK covers are usually gorgeous but this time I think I like the US one better. Good choice on a WoW pick.

I am very excited about this one too as I also loved Angel (even if it did take a while for me to get to). Think I prefer the UK cover over the US though.
ReplyDeleteI still need to read Angel! I need to move it higher up on my TBR pile. I love the UK cover. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this series, but the first one and this one both sound like good reads!
ReplyDeleteOur WOW pick is at Book Sake.
Sounds great! Thanks for sharing :D I think I prefer the UK cover, hehe.

YES!!!!! I loved the first book so much, I can't wait for more Alex and Willow. Thanks so much Leanna, I didn't know Angel Fire came out in December:)
ReplyDeleteOoh I can't wait for this one either! I loved Angel. I think I prefer the US covers though, for this series. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteOooh I really need to read my copy of Angel soon! I've had it for ages but haven't had the chance to squeeze it in. With your glowing recommendation, I think I better bump it up on my TBR :D I think I prefer the UK cover!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Great pick, I haven't heard of this series yet but this does sound really good.

ReplyDeleteSuper excited for the next installment! Hope it goes on netgalley!
ReplyDeleteI bought Angel because of all the great reviews and its uniqueness but still haven't read it yet. I must get around to doing so now that I know the second book is going to be released soon.

My WoW
I need to read this series, especially if you recommend it so highly, Leanna! Love both covers!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the US cover, but the UK version is coming out first. I hate when this happens :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat choice!
I am finally returning the WoW visit. Thank you for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't gotten the chance to read Angel Burn. I don't know which of these covers I like more. They both have their good points. Nice choice!
I haven't read Angel Burn yet. I love the US cover for Angel Fire.
ReplyDeleteOh no, that's the US cover? I don't like it very much, especially when compared to the first US cover, which I liked a lot. I guess it's what's between the covers that matters most though :)
ReplyDeleteI think the US cover is a little prettier for 'Angel', or 'Angel Burn' if you're from the US (which confuses me seeing how in the back of the book it says Angel Burn is the title for the last book). But I think the US cover for this book is very dull. I really liked the UK cover for the first one as well, but the ugly boy on the front of this cover has ruined it. Still good though, if you just put your hand covering him...
