I featured the US cover for this on Cover Candy a while back, and I was really excited to see what Bloomsbury would come up with for the UK cover. This one is impressive! I love both covers for this book, but which one do you prefer? I'm pretty torn. I like the darker effect on the UK cover, and I love that dress, but the US cover is pretty dreamy too, and that girl still reminds me of Angelina Jolie in Girl, Interrupted. They are both such pretty covers. I'm having some difficulty in picking my favourite. I like that the US cover is very different from a lot of covers around at the moment though.
Let me know which cover you love most in comments! :)
Ohhh! I really like both, but I actually prefer the UK one- definitely more my style and you are so right....the US cover is Angelina Jolie haha!
ReplyDeleteI really like the US one because of the brighter color. The UK one also looks too similar to Lauren Kate's Fallen series. But both are really beautiful and go along with the "haunting" aspect of the title.
ReplyDelete@DJ - I agree with you on similarities to the Fallen series. I thought so too! Not that it's a bad thing as I love the Fallen covers, but I do like that the US version has gone with something completely different.
ReplyDelete@Christina - It's so Angelina!!
l prefer the USA as its more different whereas the UK there are lots of other covers like it. Still love them both though!
ReplyDeleteI like the US cover better personally !! =)
ReplyDeleteI much prefer the UK cover. Her position looks odd on the US one.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I always like the UK covers better. Now that you mentioned it , the girl on the US cover does look like Angelina Jolie.
ReplyDeleteLove the UK even though it reminds me of US Torment
ReplyDeleteI like both covers, but the UK cover a bit more! The girl definitely looks hunted. and I agree with you all, the UK cover reminds me a lot of the covers of the Fallen series.
ReplyDeleteBoth are very pretty! I do prefer the US one just a little more, though. The UK one is actually the same artist as the Fallen series, Fernanda Brussi..she is pure genius, that girl. Its the same dress and background as the Torment cover, with the girl in a different position---so, of course it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love both of these covers, but I have to go with our UK one. It really has a Lauren Kate Fallen feel to it doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI like both covers and I agree with everyone else. The UK cover looks like a mash-up of Fallen and Torment.
ReplyDeleteBoth really pretty. UK one reminds me a lot the North American Fallen cover.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I think both are pretty, and even though the UK one reminds me a little of Lauren Kate's books, I think I do prefer the UK one.
ReplyDeleteThe US cover is my favourite just simply because the UK reminds me of the fallen series. It is nice to have something a little different. The girl definitely looks like Angelina Jolie :)
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the US cover more.
ReplyDeleteI am also torn by the two. The UK is much darker, but the US is gorgeous in a other worldly way, which fits well with the title, and since, it is about ghosts I would have to say the US cover gives a more emotive effect.
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard one. I like the US one, it's a bit original. The UK cover reminds me a bit of the Fallen covers. :) I go for the US one. :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the US cover...you're right it does look JUST like Angelina Jolie in Girl, Interrupted. I do like the UK, but the US stands out more to me.
ReplyDeleteThe second one looks more haunting, if that's the point. In the first one, I don't know if she is dead because otherwise who goes out in their thin dress to lay or float in the water?
ReplyDeleteThe UK cover really reminds me of the Lauren Kate cover for her Fallen series.
ReplyDeleteFor this book, I prefer the US cover. I wish the UK cover was the cover for Lauren Kate's Passion. It's so much better than the one they chose.
ReplyDeleteBoth are so pretty, but I think the title & UK cover go really well together.
ReplyDeleteThis one is a close call. I think, according to you guys, the US cover just about wins it!
ReplyDelete@Becky - I didn't realise this one had the same artist as the Fallen covers - that explains the resemblance then. I love those Fallen covers, apart from the art for the final book, which doesn't really do much for me!
I love the US cover... the drowning Ophelia look is really cool. The UK cover really does look almost exactly like the cover for Torment by Laurent Kate... the dress, the girl, even the birds flying off into the background.
