Cover Candy: Some Recent Cover Favourites....and Puppy Love!

It's true, I stalk cover reveals like it's nobody's business!

What's your pick of this bunch of recent reveals?

Release Date: September 2015

Tonight the Streets Are Ours is the story of a teen girl who becomes obsessed with a brilliant young romantic blogger in New York City. But after setting out to track him down in real life, the person she meets is not the boy she expected to find.

Why I Love This Cover: This one is my favourite of all the recent cover reveals. It's just beautiful! What's not to love?! Also, the blurb is pretty sparse at the moment - I couldn't find a full description online - but it sounds right up my street: NYC + Blogging + Romance.  Le swoon already!

Release Date: May 2015

Peyton, Sydney's charismatic older brother, has always been the star of the family, receiving the lion's share of their parents' attention and—lately—concern. When Peyton's increasingly reckless behavior culminates in an accident, a drunk driving conviction, and a jail sentence, Sydney is cast adrift, searching for her place in the family and the world. When everyone else is so worried about Peyton, is she the only one concerned about the victim of the accident?

Enter the Chathams, a warm, chaotic family who run a pizza parlor, play bluegrass on weekends, and pitch in to care for their mother, who has multiple sclerosis. Here Sydney experiences unquestioning acceptance. And here she meets Mac, gentle, watchful, and protective, who makes Sydney feel seen, really seen, for the first time.

The uber-popular Sarah Dessen explores her signature themes of family, self-discovery, and change in her twelfth novel, sure to delight her legions of fans.

Why I Love This Cover: Before I talk about this cover I just have to ask: have you seen Sarah Dessen's new puppy? OMG! She is THE cutest! You should check out Sarah Dessen's Twitter and take a look. Onto this cover, it's darker than Dessen's usual covers - and I like it. Yes, I like the darkness.  I like all that blue. And the carousel is cute, too.

Sunbathing, surfing, eating funnel cake on the boardwalk—Lucy loves living on the Jersey Shore. For her, it's not just the perfect summer escape, it is home. And as a local girl, she knows not to get attached to the tourists. They breeze in over Memorial Day weekend, crowding the shore and stealing moonlit kisses, only to pack up their beach umbrellas and empty promises on Labor Day. Lucy wants more from love than a fleeting romance, even if that means keeping her distance from her summertime neighbor and crush, Connor.

Then Superstorm Sandy tears apart her barrier island, briefly bringing together a local girl like herself and a vacationer like Connor. Except nothing is the same in the wake of the storm. And day after day, week after week, Lucy is left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and broken home. Now with Memorial Day approaching and Connor returning, will it be a summer of fresh starts or second chances?

Why I Love This Cover: I just love summer book cover releases when the days are cold and dark and dreary. It gives me hope that there is light (in the form of sun!) at the end of the tunnel. Also, doesn't this book sound just so good? broken hearts and fresh stars and second chances...

I loved romances because when you opened the first page, you knew the story would end well. Your heart wouldn't be broken. I loved that security, that guaranteed love.

In real life, you never knew the ending. I hated that.

Sixteen-year-old Eva has never been in love. But when she meets Will, everything changes. With him, her grief over her father's death fades, and she can escape from her difficult relationship with her mother. Then, without any warning, Will picks up and moves to California. So Eva—with the help of her best friend, Annie—concocts a plan to travel across the country to see him again. As they leave New York City for the first time and road-trip across America, they encounter cowboys, kudzu, and tiny towns without stoplights. Along the way, Eva and Annie learn the truth about love and all its complexities.

Why I Love This Cover: I love it because it is big and loud and bold. A book that unapologetically wears its heart on its sleeve. Also, reminds me of this cover of Picture Me Gone by Meg Rosoff. I haven't read that book, but I knew the cover anyway. See, that how much of a cover stalker I am!

A year after one of their identical twin daughters, Lydia, dies in an accident, Angus and Sarah Moorcraft move to the tiny Scottish island Angus inherited from his grandmother, hoping to put together the pieces of their shattered lives.

But when their surviving daughter, Kirstie, claims they have mistaken her identity – that she, in fact, is Lydia – their world comes crashing down once again.

As winter encroaches, Angus is forced to travel away from the island for work, Sarah is feeling isolated, and Kirstie (or is it Lydia?) is growing more disturbed. When a violent storm leaves Sarah and her daughter stranded, Sarah finds herself tortured by the past – what really happened on that fateful day one of her daughters died?

Why I Love This Cover: It kinda creeps me out, and I like that. Also, I love books about twins. Creepy books about creepy twins - even better. I've heard this one is very, very good!

YES to all of these. Saint Anything is one of my favorite covers and the The Summer After You and Me is fantastic as well. I am especially excited for that book b/c of the Jersey Shore setting and the focus on Superstorm Sandy, which scared the crap out of us. I was so worried about my favorite shore haunts. Thanks for sharing these and yes, I did see Sarah Dessen's puppies. I follow her on Instagram and the pictures are tooooo cute.
