Cover Candy #6: Recent Swoonworthy Cover Reveals!

It's time for another Cover Candy post.  If it's a book cover that I'm swooning over, I might feature it here! I love finding new books, especially those with gorgeous covers, but I can't feature them all as my Waiting on Wednesday picks, so I decided to dedicate this feature to them instead!

Let me know what you think of the featured covers in comments. Will you be adding any of these to your wishlist?

First up, have you seen the gorgeous new paperback cover for Tricia Rayburn's Siren and the second book in her Siren series, Undercurrent?  These covers are truly delicious! Yum! Siren is coming up soon on my TBR. I can't wait to get to it!

Siren by Tricia Rayburn
Publisher: Egmont USA
Release date: May 10th 2011
Ages: YA
Seventeen-year-old Vanessa Sands is afraid of everything--the dark, heights, the ocean--but her fearless older sister, Justine, has always been there to coach her through every challenge.  That is until Justine goes cliff diving one night near the family's vacation house in Winter Harbor, Maine, and her lifeless body washes up on shore the next day.

Vanessa's parents want to work through the tragedy by returning to their everyday lives back in Boston, but Vanessa can't help feeling that her sister's death was more than an accident.  After discovering that Justine never applied to colleges, and that she was secretly in a relationship with longtime family friend Caleb Carmichael, Vanessa returns to Winter Harbor to seek some answers.

But when Vanessa learns that Caleb has been missing since Justine's death, she and Caleb's older brother, Simon, join forces to try to find him, and in the process, their childhood friendship blossoms into something more.

Soon it's not just Vanessa who is afraid.  All of Winter Harbor is abuzz with anxiety when another body washes ashore, and panic sets in when the small town becomes home to a string of fatal, water-related accidents . . . in which all the victims are found grinning from ear to ear.

As Vanessa and Simon probe further into the connections between Justine's death and the sudden rash of creepy drownings, Vanessa uncovers a secret that threatens her new romance, and that will change her life forever.

Here's the cover for the second book in the series, Undercurrent. Love this cover! This one will be published in  July 2011.

Now onto one of my favourite books of 2010, which is publishing in the US in May.  When I first saw the US cover for L.A Weatherly's Angel Burn, I was underwhelmed, but now that I've seen a larger image, it's definitely growing on me.  I still prefer the UK cover, but this one is pretty sweet too!

For those of you who haven't yet the book (why?!!) it's available for request on Netgalley. I suggest you go get it!

Angel Burn by L.A Weatherly
Publisher: Candlewick Press
Release date: May 24th 2011
Ages: 14+

Willow knows she’s different from other girls, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift. She can look into the future and know people’s dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets, just by touching them. She has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does. Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces, and that he’s one of the few humans left who can fight them. When Alex finds himself falling in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil. In the first book in an action-packed, romantic trilogy, L..A. Weatherly sends readers on a thrill-ride of a road trip — and depicts the human race at the brink of a future as catastrophic as it is deceptively beautiful.

There's a lot of blogger buzz surrounding Hourglass by Myra McEntire, and it's one I've had my eye on for a while! I was on the lookout for this cover reveal, and I have to say I really love it.  It's a little deceptive on first look, and very, very clever! Should be a good read!

Hourglass by Myra McEntire
Publisher: Egmont USA
Release date: May 24th 2011
Ages: YA

Since the age of fourteen, Emerson Cole has seen strange things – dead things – swooning Southern Belles, soldiers, and other eerie apparitions of the past. She’s tried everything to get rid of the visions: medication, counseling, asylums. Nothing’s worked.

So when Emerson's well-meaning brother calls in yet another consultant from a mysterious organization called the Hourglass, Emerson’s willing to give it one last try.

Michael Weaver is no ordinary consultant. He's barely older than she is; he listens like no one she's ever met before; and he doesn't make her feel the least bit crazy. As Emerson ventures deeper into the world of the Hourglass, she begins to learn the truth about her past, her future--and her very life.

A seductive time-slip novel that merges the very best of the paranormal and science fiction genres, Myra McEntire’s Hourglass is a stunning debut from an author to watch

Finally, I just had to show y'all the cover to Nina Malkin's Swear, the sequel to Swoon.  Swoon has been on my TBR for so long, and I really need to get around to reading this.  I love this new cover.
Love, love, love!!  The cover for Swear is SWOONworthy! :)

* Please note: Not all of these covers are final and may be subject to change. If the cover is changed, I will update with the new cover!

  10. I cannot explain how much I love the new cover for Siren, I was not a fan of the original one, the girls eyes just made her seem so creepy–I almost didn't want to pick the book up! These new covers are so soft but still eerie, I just love them. Thanks for sharing Leanna!

  11. Swear has to be my favorite cover in that great collection there, it really pulls me in and wonder about the story behind the image. To the luminous pink of the flower petals falling around her, to the position she lays in and the scene around her.
